In my natural state, I am a lazy, comfort-loving HGTV addict. I often prefer to lounge around on the couch watching an episode of Property Brothers over… well… getting up and doing anything else.
But when I’m in my productive mode?
Why, sometimes I’ve believed as many as six impossible things before breakfast.
I’m off like a shot. I am inspired. I check things off my to-do list like it’s fun. And frankly, it is. I’ve switched on something in my brain that allows me to see the beauty in productivity, the joy in every check mark. Not to mention I feel better and better the longer I am productive. There’s nothing more satisfying than a checked-off to-do list.
I can’t pretend that it’s easy to switch my mindset. In a perfect world, I’d wake up every morning singing like Cinderella or Maria from The Sound of Music, but I instead drag myself to our Bialetti coffee maker, praying to the stove to prepare my caffeine faster than yesterday. In those moments, the coffee is a means to an end rather than a journey – and isn’t that a shame?
Don’t let your dreams be dreams.
Not everything in life is purely artistic. Sometimes washing the dishes is just that and nothing else – but if you look close enough, you might be able to find what you are searching for in that task. For me, it’s art. Removing imperfection. For you, it might be methodical; strategic. Removing imperfection. Whatever your path or preference, it’s important to find what it is that makes you feel productive, inspired. That spark will keep you going and serve as the fuel for your rocket ship for the day.
There are so many ways the world has come up with to fuel productivity – cliche catchphrases and the like.
But there’s nothing quite like inspiration.
