Into the Horizon

I don’t tend to need a reason or a cause to ride my bike. I crave it, and the only barrier to entry for me is getting the heck out of bed in the morning to actually go do it. But when a more-than-worthy cause arises, like the Great Cycle Challenge coming up in June, I can’t help but jump out of bed and into the saddle. There’s no better motivation!

Although the challenge doesn’t start for a while yet, I’m gearing up to make it my best month ever – and raising a little money while I’m at it! Not only will my $500 and 100-mile goal get me riding as often as possible, but it will also support the fight against childhood cancer.

Not all of the names on the list of who I’m riding for are children, but they represent to me a kind of resilience that inspires like nothing else.

I’m riding for Reggie.

For Mark.

For Mike.

For maman.

For dad.

For all those who have fought, continue to fight, and will never stop working towards a cure. Cancer does not discriminate. Age, race, body part.

I’m riding for a reason – cycling for a cause. What better way is there? If you’d like to join me on this journey, you can click here or on the banner above to donate. Every little bit helps! See you on the paseos!
