Let’s Make Chocolate Ice Cream!
Guys, this drought has been unbearable. I’m a clouds-and-rain type of girl, but since I’ve stubbornly decided to live nowhere but Los Angeles, I have to get a bit crafty to stay cool. With the temperatures in Southern California soaring over 100 degrees this weekend, I had to take this cooling down business into my own hands. The answer? Ice cream! And honestly, who wants to buy ice cream when you can make your own?! read more…
Marry Who You Want How You Want
I am a geek and a nerd. I am passionate about things that might make you think so. I wear the badge proudly.
“Being a geek means never having to play it cool about how much you like something.” – Simon Pegg
I am lucky to be surrounded by people in my life that accept and love this about me. I have been friends with Mr. H. Potter since he resided in the cupboard under the stairs. I’d be down for a date with Nathan Drake. 4, 8, 15, 16, 23, and 42 are not just numbers to me (By the way, I loved the ending. Sue me.). My passions are a part of me, and when I get married to my best friend, we have every intention of weaving geeky elements into our wedding. read more…
As If We Needed Another Reason To Be Excited For Our Honeymoon
If there’s one thing you must know about our personality as a couple, it’s that we’re huge Disney fans. As Premium annual passholders at Disneyland, we’ve enjoyed our fair share of visits to the Happiest Place on Earth. However, we’ve never made it out to Florida to experience Walt Disney World – but that will all change on our honeymoon in October. 11 days of wedded bliss with the mouse. We’re in the thick of planning and, needless to say, we’re stoked! But we didn’t realize quite how exciting this trip will be until we saw this… read more…
We’re in VEGAS, BABY! #CES2015
One of my New Year’s resolutions? Blog more. So here I am, my Skecher-ed feet dangling off the bed in our Vegas hotel room, typing away my thoughts in the hopes that someone somewhere is listening (reading?). read more…
Week 2: The Cats Arrive
After two long weeks of furious unpacking at every free moment, the place has really begun to feel like home. Therefore, on Easter Sunday, while I was at home with my parents and sister for the holiday weekend, Sohrab and his parents brought our three cats over one by one and introduced them to the new house. read more…
Moving In!
Hello, day I’ve been waiting for since Christmas! We have already put a good portion of our stuff in the house, and now that the bed and couch is finally in, we are ready to start sleeping here! The kitchen is stocked (enough) and the bed is made! Now that it’s finally here, I can say that it feels (only now) that time has flown – which is completely the opposite of what I felt as the days were building up to us moving in. It’s a very exciting time – and I don’t want to miss a minute! *skips away
Canceled Projects
When it comes to remodeling, it’s so easy to get carried away and start to envision what you’d like your house/condo/apartment to be. Of course when you own the place, there is a lot more that you can do which can not only make your place more “homey” but can also add to the value of the house. One such project for me has been to have a garage that demands your attention and even highlights the cars that are parked in them.
Our Kitchen Looks Like a Kitchen
It’s down to the wire, folks! There’s countertops, appliances, electrical…! Aside from a handful of smaller things that still need to get done, the biggest to-do still on the list is the backsplash. I think that will add yet another POP that still isn’t there, even though it’s already looking snazzy. But don’t take my word for it, check out the picture (and the video of Sohrab demonstrating the faucet!). read more…
Squee! We Have a Registry!
Our renovation is coming along, and I’m happy to announce that we’re ready for action… with our registry, that is! We went to Crate and Barrel recently to set it up, and we were like kids in a candy shop. It’s so exciting to see everything come together, and we’d love for you to be a part of it.
Of course, you’re all invited to visit once we’re all moved in!
Check out our housewarming registry on this colorful page.
The Kitchen is Coming Together
As we head into a very rainy weekend in SoCal, we get a nice text from our contractor with the picture above. When we visited the house last night to drop off some stuff for the bathrooms, the cabinets were all put together but not yet installed. As of about an hour ago, they are all installed and ready to be decked out! Yayyyyy! read more…
